WE ARE ONE. We are in this together. We are working as a collective to bring you classes and offerings that are donation based to support our community. We are there with you!
Donation-based Zoom Sessions are a gift to anyone who would benefit - free of cost. If you have funds, proceeds will go to Ekah Yoga to keep the studio going & continue to pay our teachers & portion to instructor for leading the session.
Thanks to your support we have been able to donate to:
El Mercado, a local "platform for POC artisans, cooperatives, small business owners, local groups & orgs to network, trade and invest in a collaborative economy." Some of their programs include an artisan market, local and international trade networks, and financial literacy and business start-up education.
Color of Change who "designs campaigns powerful enough to end practices that unfairly hold Black people back, and champion solutions that move us all forward."
Our teachers: We have been able to keep our studio going and pay our instructors throughout this challenging time. We couldn't do it without you! Thank you so so much!
We want to give a special thank you to Michael Demsey & Heather Grishams donated $500 to the improvement of our outside space. We are working to create a space we can all gather after we get through this. We are looking into adding a new bench and continuing growth of our mandala garden.

Start your day with this powerful practice to bring peace and alignment to mind and body. This all levels class is open for beginner to advanced yoga practitioners. The practice will include a set sequence of exercises (asanas) that you will get to know over time and see yourself improve upon with practice, in strength, flexibility, breath work (lung capacity and breath control), and chitta (mind stuff, clearing space for peaceful thought).
This class is led by Rohan Shroff, who has brought traditional Classical Hatha Yoga to our peaceful Bloomington studio (Ekah) directly from the homeland of yoga (India). This yoga will not only focus on Asana, but also Pranayama (breath work), Mudras (gestures) and Bandhas. It also gives much importance to relaxation being, one of the most important aspects for union of mind and body. This will also include starting and ending prayers and; the twelve steps of Surya Namaskara along with the Mantras. Sarah will be guiding you through a different guided meditation each week. She will be sharing techniques that have helped her from guided visualization, mindfulness, metta meditation, mantra, Zen, and or breath work. This class is accessible for anyone who wants to wake up with a bit more mindfulness.

Stress demands all of our energy. When our batteries are so depleted, we can’t deal, and anything can push us over the edge. I have noticed that having a regular morning yoga practice has helped me to quieten mental chatter and cope with this challenge time of stress and anxiety. I want to open my morning practice to the community and invite you to establish a morning yoga routine by joining me on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 9:30 AM. This is an informal yoga practice to help us to built strength, mindfulness resilience, and to cope with the challenges that we are undergoing now due to COVID-19.
The Morning routine includes:
Easy breathing and/or mindfulness techniques for a start. Followed by very simple loosening exercises for the joints. We then work the abdominal muscles. and the muscles of the back. And try to bring more flexibility to the back, spine, hips and groin.
A few rounds of a classic variation of the sun salutation. And we end in Shavasana relaxing body and mind. You will need: a yoga mat or towel, water and an open heart.
All levels welcome

Wake up Wednesday to set the tone for your day. Get to know your mind better. What's going on in there? What's rising to the surface? Our goal is not to clear the mind of thinking but to try and be more clear about your mind & your thoughts, to bring yourself to a calm emotional state and to set intentions for the rest of your day.
Sarah will be guiding you through a different guided meditation each week. She will be sharing techniques that have helped her from guided visualization, mindfulness, metta meditation, mantra, Zen, and or breath work. This class is accessible for anyone who wants to wake up with a bit more mindfulness.
